LP-PS ($12,300) is a beautifully finished, all-tube, remote-controlled preamp with
outboard power supply, four inputs and an eye-catching meter. Construction is
breathtakingly superb -- to Swiss standards (not surprising, given the company's proximity
to Switzerland) -- with internal isolation of sensitive circuitry stages.
Lovers
of the 300B output tube will think they’ve died and gone to heaven: Vexo’s
VX-S40 stereo power amp ($39,700), with outboard power supply, uses eight 300Bs to produce
50Wpc. The amp accepts both single-ended and balanced input. |
