Bulgarias
Thrax Audio demonstrated the Dionysos single-ended-triode, transformer-coupled,
remote-controlled preamp ($22,000) and Spartacus 70W direct-heated-triode mono power amps
($44,000/pair). The amps feature fixed bias and a special Japanese Permalloy core
transformer. The chassis of both products are made from plates of aircraft-grade aluminum
milled to varying thicknesses.

This close-up of the Thrax Dionysos
reveals the complex sculpting of the front panel. Inputs include four single-ended and two
balanced, with two sets of balanced and two sets of single-ended outputs. Thrax also
offers a matching Orpheus phono stage ($22,000). |
