Rocky Mountain Audio Fest 2013 Hot Product

If a power amp is only as good as its power supply,
BorderPatrol has a sure-fire way to improve its existing models. The S20 EXD dual-mono,
single-ended amp (center stand) is not new, but the pair of power supplies flanking it
are.

The new EXS uses twin heavy-duty power transformers in
"a novel configuration," according to Gary Dews of BorderPatrol, and has a
larger choke with higher inductance in the 300B supply. It also has extensive cryogenic
treatments. Each EXS has a heavy-gauge copper case and weighs 80 pounds.

The S20 EXD amp sells for $16,750 with a pair of stock MB
power supplies and $25,750 with a pair of the EXS supplies. Owners of BorderPatrol amps
can trade in their MBs for EXS power supplies, which are literally plug'n'play. |
