What's significant about Vitus Audio's new 300Wpc RI-100 integrated amp is what it represents in terms of the company's evolving industrial-design capabilities. It uses a sheet-metal chassis instead of one that's all machined aluminum, internal heatsinks that are purposely hidden from view, and a less costly EI transformer. It's ultimately easier to build than its predecessor and therefore less expensive as well, at $13,000. A phono stage and internal DAC are options.
