The Meletsky StroMTank ($30,000) is a new kind of audio power product we will see much more of in the future.

It's a massive rechargeable AC power supply -- the size of a large subwoofer -- based on lithium ion phosphate (LiFePO) batteries, which are often used as backup power for cars. While these batteries have lower energy density than those commonly used in consumer electronics, they offer a constant discharge voltage and a better rate at which energy can be drawn from them. They are also safer and have longer functional life.

The StroMTank can provide full battery power or charge itself from the wall while providing power. Its 5000W capacity makes it suitable for use with entire audio systems, providing off-the-grid AC even for amplifiers. However, larger-capacity models are in the works.
