I
read Bose purchased McIntosh. I was considering buying a McIntosh integrated amp. Should I
be concerned that Bose is now the parent company? I can’t help wonder if service and
support will be affected. McIntosh had great customer support. Will that soon change?

heard about this a while ago. I doubt Bose would buy McIntosh with the idea of changing
its brand identity, and a big part of that for McIntosh is its customer support. I
wouldn't be put off from buying a McIntosh product right now, but you have to decide how
much the new ownership matters to you. Keep in mind that this isn't the first time
McIntosh has been acquired, and it probably won't be the last. The brand is as close to
bedrock as high-end audio has, which is why it has lasted for so many decades and with
