Replacing
output tubes
April

Marc,
If
my amp does auto biasing, does it matter if I replace just one maybe two output tubes that
have mileage on them with new ones? Or is mixing old with new not recommended?

It
depends how the amp automatically biases the tubes: by pair or all tubes as a group.
Either way, I would contact the manufacturer and follow their recomendation. It's always
advantageous to replace all output tubes at once. Then you can buy identical tubes, not
mix and match, and you won't need to track the life of each tube individually. --Marc
