One of the most anticipated product introductions at the show was Wadax’s new Reference Transport ($115,000). The styling has changed from the more traditional external design of the Atlantis Transport, looking very much of a piece with the Wadax Reference DAC.

The 132-pound chassis was fetching in black, with the top-loading, iris-style mechanism being particularly eye-catching. The Thor Pro Transport mechanism, at 55 pounds, is claimed to be the most accurate CD/SACD mechanism ever built. With a unit this size and weight, isolation and power-supply capacity point to a uniquely quiet transport.

Lucky owners of full Wadax digital systems should see the Reference Transport in early 2024.
