Thorens had its newest creation on display: one static and another in a small room in one of the MOC’s halls.

Celebrating its 140th anniversary, Thorens decided to go big, in size, price and weight.

This massive Reference turntable is expected to be priced at “about” €250,000 (no US price yet) and to be available in October of 2023.

The static unit, enclosed in a velvet-rope barrier to lend an air of exclusivity, proved to be eye candy worth tasting.

In use, however, the 'table sounded a bit dry and plodding, but that may have been the modest room, the associated equipment, or the selected music.
