Fono Acustica is the latest cable company to latch on to and exploit the musical importance of connectors when it comes to cable performance. The embossed silver and gold plug bodies on the flagship Virtuoso range are nothing if not striking, although they do offend as many aesthetic sensibilities as they impress. The new connector designs for the Armonico range are altogether sleeker, their smooth, cylindrical, copper-colored bodies offering a beautiful contrast to the white mesh outer on the cables themselves, while the internals are totally different from the previous version.

Fono Acustica claims significant musical improvements as a result of the revised connectors, but the improved looks alone are impressive enough. Is this the prettiest cable on the market? Probably. A one-meter pair of interconnects starts at €5000, with a two-meter set of speaker cables costing €16,600 and a 1.5-meter power cord €5500.
