dCS's Rossini range of digital products has grown by one with the introduction of a new disc transport that adds SACD playback to the lineup -- the existing Rossini player doesn't play SACDs. The new Rossini transport (top unit, $23,500) uses a Denon transport and has the full complement of outputs. Like the Vivaldi 2.0 system, the Rossini "stack" includes a dedicated DAC (center unit, $24,000) with flexible file-playback capabilities and volume control -- among other features -- along with a master clock ($7500).

dCS used D'Agostino amplification and Wilson Audio speakers to demo the Rossini system sans preamp.
