High End 2013

There was naturally no shortage of serious headphones and related accessories at the High End, but one brand that caught our eye was Ultrasone. This German company has a broad range, but at its upper end it has added the Edition 12, which has 40mm gold-plated mylar drivers in an open-back design that is similar to the existing Edition 10 but at a lower price point, €1299. Comfort is provided by a sheepskin-covered headband and micro-perforated leather earpads. Impedance is specified as 35 ohms.
