CES & THE Show 2010 Sounds & Sights

One doesn't buy records casually. LP
shopping involves -- requires -- deliberation, just as LP playing does.
CES attendees could only be pleased with the
selection of music on sale at THE Show, with LPs -- used and new -- in abundance. All of
the mail-order sellers were there, along with a few others who had both new and used LPs
for sale, including bins of dollar records. Such nostalgia! It's hard to go to actual
record stores these days (a couple -- Record City and Zia Records -- do reside in Las
Vegas, however), so it's especially welcome when the record store comes to you.

We ended our buying spree at the Classic
Records booth, where the Clarity 45rpm sets were prominent. We showed restraint, however,
going for the single-LP titles instead. |
