The Spendor SP2/3RČ ($4295/pair) made its US debut at the Newport show. While it looks rather conventional, it upholds England's claim to loudspeakers long on musical integrity. It uses Spendor's 8 1/4" polymer-cone woofer and 1" soft-dome tweeter, and it features the Classic-series thin-wall cabinet and "meticulously refined" crossover. It sounded pure and natural with Chord electronics.
